Warren Wunderlich
Founder
Spurred by the feeling that he could offer a more personalized insurance service to the community, Warren J. Wunderlich founded the agency which bears his name, Wunderlich Insurance Agency in 1960. Its early days required limited office space in Winona’s historic Exchange Building since Warren opened for business as the firm’s only full-time employee. Rapid growth of a customer base brought a need for larger office facilities, first in a building in the downtown business area, and later to the present location on Main Street. His success in business may be directly attributed to his work ethic and dedication to clients. His sons joined him in the family business which they continue today.
Throughout his life Warren was very active in Winona civic affairs including Jaycees, Exchange Club, VFW and American Legion. He was a World War II veteran and served honorably in the Pacific with the Marine Corps for three years as a gunner dive bomber. He was active at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart and served on the board of St. Mary’s Cemetery for 30+ years. Warren was an active golfer and board member of Westfield Golf Course.
